APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN ALAT EVENTS DODOMA 7 - 13 DEC 2009

Dear Policy Forum members,

We are pleased to invite you to apply to participate in the Annual Working Congress of the Association of Local Authorities of Tanzania (ALAT) which will take place in Dodoma, Tanzania on the 7th and 8th December 2009 as part of the Commemoration of its 25th Anniversary.

The congress will be followed by an official gathering to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of ALAT and the launching of Local Government Reform Program II (LGRP II commonly known as D by D) on 13th December 2009.

There will also be an International Workshop on 10th and 11th December which will bring together stakeholders in the local government sector in Tanzania and outside Tanzania.

Policy Forum have been invited to these events and accorded 15 spaces for members to attend and participate: our theme for participation is CSO AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY :The need and opportunities.

Some members of Policy Forum have committed to assisting other members to attend these events and therefore will finance 10 of the 15 spaces

The members to be accorded this support will be selected basing on the following criteria:

-Members engaging/implementing Social Accountability Monitoring (or related strategies) in their areas focusing on Local governments,

-Those with and wish to share relevant lessons learned from implementing the Accountability Monitoring strategies

-Must be members of PF,

-First come first served.
